Our pastor
Love god. love yourself. love others.
Pastor Shawn Broadnax
“There’s a fire shut up in his bones—and he speaks so others can finally breathe.”
Pastor Shawn Broadnax is not your typical church leader. He is a modern-day Jeremiah—a prophetic voice for a generation tired of religious performance and starving for real love. As the founder and Lead Pastor of TACA Church (The Assembly of Christ’s Apostles) in Lanham, Maryland, Pastor Shawn carries a sacred assignment: to tear down toxic traditions and reconstruct a church that reflects the radical, inclusive, liberating love of Christ.
With the boldness of a prophet, the heart of a shepherd, and the edge of a reformer, Pastor Shawn is leading a movement—not just a ministry. His life’s work is rooted in what he calls The Doctrine of Love—a theologically rich framework that declares nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:38–39). This isn’t sentimental faith—it’s subversive grace that confronts religious harm, heals old wounds, and restores people to themselves and to God.
A former Christian Hip-Hop artist known as Shawn Riff-Raff, Pastor Shawn’s creative roots show up in every sermon. His messages are poetic and powerful, dripping with theological depth, cultural relevance, and unapologetic truth. He is known for challenging convention, confronting injustice, and cultivating a faith experience that is bold, unfiltered, and undeniably transformative.
His middle name, Jeremiah, isn't just on paper—it's a prophecy fulfilled. Like the biblical prophet, Pastor Shawn was called to speak truth even when it cost him. He didn’t build TACA Church to be another version of what already existed. He built it to be something new: a sanctuary for the deconstructed, a training ground for the hungry, and a church where people don’t have to pretend to belong.
Alongside him stands Lady Kisha Broadnax, a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) and a force in her own right. Her wisdom, compassion, and clinical insight ensure that TACA doesn’t just preach healing—we practice it. Together, they embody a ministry that is holistic, healthy, and holy.
Under Pastor Shawn’s leadership, TACA Church is growing into one church in multiple locations—each one committed to “Love God. Love Yourself. Love Others.” Whether in the room or online, everyone who encounters this ministry is met with immersive worship, deep teaching, and a love that refuses to let go.
Pastor Shawn isn’t trying to fit into the system.
He’s been sent to rebuild it.
