More About TACA Church

About Us

TACA Church — short for The Assembly of Christ’s Apostles — is a bold, multicultural, non-denominational church planted in Lanham, Maryland under the leadership of Pastor Shawn Broadnax and Lady Kisha Broadnax. We exist to bring healing and transformation through the radical, inclusive, and unshakable Doctrine of Love — the belief that nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:38–39).

Our church isn’t just a place to attend — it’s a movement to be part of. We are building one church in multiple locations, raising up a generation of leaders who will love deeply, live boldly, and lead authentically.

TACA Church is designed for those who’ve been left out, counted out, or pushed out by toxic religion and shame-based theology. We’re not here to modify old traditions — we’re here to reimagine church altogether. At TACA, love is the doctrine, not just a value. That means:

  • We love God with all our heart and soul.
  • We love ourselves the way God created us — whole, worthy, and in progress.
  • We love others with the same mercy, grace, and justice that Jesus showed every day.

Our Worship

TACA is an immersive worship experience. Led by Pastor Shawn — a former Christian hip-hop artist — our services blend creative visuals, soul-stirring music, and raw, powerful preaching that tells the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. If you're tired of performance-driven church and craving something real, relevant, and revolutionary — welcome home.

Our Leadership

Pastor Shawn Broadnax is a prophetic voice for a new generation of faith. His preaching is poetic, controversial, emotionally gripping, and theologically deep — unapologetically centered on Jesus and love. Alongside him is Lady Kisha Broadnax, a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC). She brings clarity, compassion, and care to our ministries that support mental health, family dynamics, and whole-person healing.

Our Mission

We’re not trying to be the biggest church — we’re trying to make the deepest impact. That means:

  • Developing leaders through deep biblical study and real-world discipleship.
  • Creating safe spaces for healing, transformation, and honest faith.
  • Expanding our campuses across the country so more people can experience the love of Christ.

Whether you’re local or remote, curious or committed, deconstructing or rediscovering — there’s a seat at the table for you.

Our core beliefs

1

Love is the Foundational Doctrine.

TACA Church isn’t built on fear, shame, or tradition—it’s built on the radical, relentless, non-negotiable love of God. This love is not just a feeling—it’s a theological framework, a call to justice, and a lens through which all Scripture is interpreted.

2

Jesus is the Full Expression of God’s Heart.

Jesus isn’t just Savior—He’s the clearest revelation of who God truly is. TACA believes that to know Jesus is to know God—not just in doctrine, but in character, compassion, and truth.

3

The Bible is Sacred, But Love is the Filter.

We honor the Bible as sacred text, but we don’t weaponize it. Every passage must be interpreted through the lens of God’s love and Jesus’ ministry. Scripture isn’t a tool for control—it’s a story of redemption, grace, and liberation.

4

Every Person is Made in God’s Image.

No one is born broken. You may be bruised, but you are not worthless. We reject doctrines like total depravity that label humanity as inherently evil. At TACA, your divine worth is not up for debate.

5

Faith Without Justice is a Lie.

Love must do more than feel. It must fight. That means standing up for the marginalized, the forgotten, and the excluded. TACA is committed to building a church that doesn’t just preach transformation, but provokes it in the world.

6

We Are One Church in Many Places.

TACA believes in building a unified, multicultural, multi-campus community across the nation. Whether you’re in the room or online, in Maryland or across the globe, you can belong here. You are not a viewer, you’re an Apostle of love.

7

Grace is the Culture, Not Just the Cover.

At TACA, grace isn’t just a pass for your past, it’s the posture we carry every day. We don’t just preach grace; we live it. That means second chances, slow judgment, and a church culture that leads with mercy instead of measuring sin.

8

Worship is Our Weapon.

We don’t worship out of habit. We worship from the trenches. TACA worship is immersive, creative, raw, and prophetic. It’s where we bring our whole selves—flaws, faith, and frustration—and meet a God who can handle it all.
